The Rev. John Makokha is the founder and senior pastor of Riruta Hope Community church. He is married to Anne Baraza; the Counsultant Counselor Other Sheep Afrika-Kenya and the CEO Riruta United Women Empowerment Programme. He earned his B.Ed. Degree at the University of Nairobi and served as graduate teacher in various High Schools in Kenya.

The Machakos workshop was both a wake up call and a challenge for Religious leaders in the area. It was a well attended workshop that attracted 34 clergy and laity. It was representative of all denominations ages, genders and orientations. The mood was initially tense but gradually became hospitable and participatory.

Other Sheep Kenya held a one day workshop for clergy and laity drawn mostly from the Anglican Church at hotel Naselica in Kisumu, Kenya on July 18, 2009. The theme of the seminar was "Religion and Sexuality in our African Context." A total of 12 participants attended the seminar.
